Governor Walker announces additional $38.6 million in local bridge projects
MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) — Governor Walker announced an additional $38.6 million to go to fund 70 more local bridge projects statewide for the 2018-2022 Local Bridge Improvement Program cycle.
The additional $38.6 million was approved by the Joint Finance Committee today.
“We are making sure our infrastructure is safely and efficiently connecting people and commerce in every corner of our state,” said Governor Walker. “With $38.6 million in additional funding, we are helping improve 70 more bridges on top of the 113 we are already funding. This is part of the largest increase in local road and bridge aid in 20 years.”
This announcement comes following funding of $76.4 million for 113 local bridges across Wisconsin, bringing the total to 183 which is the total number of applications received. A full listing of the approved statewide local bridge projects is available on the WisDOT website.
