Gov. Walker attends movie premiere in La Crosse

Governor Scott Walker made an appearance on the red carpet Thursday night in La Crosse.

He was at the screening for the film “Man Down” starring Shia LaBeouf at the Weber Center for Performing Arts.

The movie is about a former Marine searching for his daughter in a post-apocalyptic America.

The governor says movies like this one make people remember there are veterans that need our help.

“The first time I saw ‘Saving Private Ryan,’ the first 20 minutes was so amazing and emotionally and physically almost wore me out, I’d assume there would be some moments like that if not big portions of the movie, but I think that’s helpful. It challenges us here and across the country to think more about what are we doing to support our veterans,” said Governor Walker.

Thursday night was the first U.S. screening of the movie. It was made possible by local businessman Don Weber.
