Governor urges support for team during NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton proclaimed Thursday, April 16 as “Go Wild! Day” in the “State of Hockey.”

The Minnesota Wild will take on the Saint Louis Blues in the first round of the 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The team clinched a playoff berth for the third consecutive season setting a franchise record. Governor Dayton said Minnesota is the “State of Hockey” and has produced more NHL hockey players than any other state.

“We are proud in Minnesota to call our state the State of Hockey,” said Governor Dayton said. “I congratulate the team on an excellent season, and wish them the very best of luck in the playoffs. Go Wild!”

There will be a pep rally and viewing party at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Wild-Blues playoff game will be telecast on the new HD LED centerhung videoboard. The Wild will play at the Blues at 8:30 p.m. The game will air on FS-N, FS-WI, NBCSN, SN360, TVA3.
