‘Got Energy’ Triathlon made to be beginner friendly
La Crosse YMCA and Touchstone Energy Cooperatives host 13th annual triathlon
WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) — Despite Sunday’s heat area competitors were enjoying nature through running, swimming, and biking.
The La Crosse YMCA and Touchstone Energy Cooperatives hosted their 13th annual ‘Got Energy’ Triathlon this morning at Swarthout Park in West Salem. The triathlon is meant for people of all abilities to reach their health goals.
While many triathlons may require training beforehand, this one was made to be beginner friendly.
“It’s really beginner friendly. We have a lot of trainings for people, we also have so many volunteers just encouraging people throughout the route. We do finisher medals, and we just really encourage everyone to give it a try,” said YMCA Community and Special Events Coordinator Shawn McClone.
The Energy Triathlon included 2 distances, a sprint and an intermediate competition.
