Golfers take to the course to raise money for kids

Monday was 26th annual Boys and Girls Club Golf Classic

Golfers hit the links on Monday to help out an area organization.

This was the 26th annual Boys and Girls Club Golf Classic at Cedar Creek in Onalaska.

About 150 golfers took part to help benefit programs at the Boys and Girls Club. There was also a raffle and live auction, with all proceeds going to the club.

“It’s a place to hang out, but we feed those kids, we give them a safe place, and help them with their homework and all sorts of things like that. And we like this opportunity to tell some of our supporters, ‘here’s where your dollars are going.’ You’re helping kids in need,” said Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse Executive Director Mike Desmond.

News 8 Sports Director Gregg Wavrunek took part in the event.
