‘Golden Rule’ peace boat makes its way to La Crosse

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Peace is on its way to La Crosse.

The Golden Rule–a historic sail boat–is sailing the Mississippi for the next year and will make its way to La Crosse .

The boat first set sail in 1958 to inspire peace in the Marshall Islands.

The reborn version is a project by Veterans for Peace.

Crews will be at Riverside Park tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. to spread the word about the dangers of nuclear power.

At 12:30 p.m., Mayor Mitch Reynolds will hold a proclamation ceremony for the boat.

The night will close out with a presentation on the dangers of nuclear war at 5 p.m.
