Girl Scouts kick off recruitment at ‘Daisies, Activate’ in La Crosse

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — The Badgerland Girl Scouts are kicking off recruitment season tonight with a brand new event called ‘Daisies, Activate’.

It’s a monthly get-together where the youngest scouts and their families can get together and make new friends.

Tomorrow, the La Crosse area Girl Scouts are holding their annual sign-up party.

Any girls ages kindergarten through 12th grade can sign up to be a scout.

Leaders say the organization helps girls build friendships, even when it was difficult to do during pandemic lockdowns.

“From trying new skills, from making new friends, which is honestly one of the biggest things that we hear, feedback-wise from our girls,” said Outdoor Experience Manager and Camp Director Bill Thornton. “Girl scouting is an amazing movement for girls to really build up their courage and their confidence.”

The sign-up party starts at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Girl Scout Center in La Crosse.

If you can’t make it to the party, there are more ways to sign up on the Badgerland Girl Scouts website.
