GET breaks ground on new performing arts center
GALESVILLE, Wis. (WKBT) — Crews started paving the way for a new performing arts center at Galesville-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School on Thursday.
Following more than 18 months of research and planning, the community voted to support the construction of the additional space.
The performing arts center will include seating for 700, a ticket box office, multiple dressing rooms, and dedicated storage.
Longtime GET Band Director, Brenda Gauchel, says this is a big first for the high school.
“This is my 29th year here at GET, and I’ve been having my groups perform in gyms for the last 28 years,” said Gauchel. “Anytime our groups have prepared for contests or any of those things we’ve always had to travel some place else to perform in a proper performance facility. So we’re really, really excited.”
The plan is to have the new performing arts center completed by October 2020.
