Generous donations help Salvation Army reach Red Kettle Campaign goal
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – If you were out and about on Christmas Eve, you may have noticed Salvation Army volunteers ringing their bells a little louder.
Thanks to your generosity, the Salvation Army of La Crosse County reached its Red Kettle Campaign goal!
The pandemic caused a lot of concern that the organization wouldn’t raise as much money this year, but the community really stepped up.
“They heard the call, and there are so many of our neighbors and our friends that are in need. All the dollars that are raised stay local and go back out to the community. So, again we come to the community today to say thank you. You did it, you helped us reach our goal,” said Christina Knudsen, Salvation Army of La Crosse County Development Dir.
The campaign raised $860,000!
Thursday was the last day volunteers were out bell ringing.
