Generous donation helps Family & Children’s Center continue its fight against child abuse

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – A generous donation is helping one local organization continue its fight against child abuse.

As part of Giving Tuesday, Dahl Ford-Lincoln in Onalaska gave the Family & Children’s Center more than $20,000 for its child abuse prevention programs.

These programs are critical in our community and are needed more than ever before.

“As the pandemic continues to move forward we are finding there is more and more need for our services. Safer at home does not always mean safer at home, and that’s what we’re finding, especially in our child advocacy centers where there is an increased number of allegations of abuse,” said Tita Yutuc, Family & Children’s Center President and CEO.

The money comes from Dahl’s month-long Lube-A-Thon event, which has been a one-day event in the past.

The month-long Lube-A-Thon really paid off; of the 12 years Dahl has held this event, this was the largest donation it has made.

“We couldn’t keep our doors open without the support of folks like Dahl Automotive,” Yutuc said.
