Garant’s return provides big lift for Viterbo volleyball
Viterbo volleyball has clinched its 10th North Star conference title thanks to a pair of victories over the weekend.
The V-Hawks got a big lift from junior Miah Garant, who recently returned to the team after missing the last seven weeks for an injury. The junior picked up right where she left off, recording nine kills in a four-set win over 13th Bellevue, and she then led the team with 24 kills in Saturday’s win over Dakota State. Her efforts earned her Conference Attacker of the Week honors, and the team says it’s great to have her back.
“Just her presence, her attitude on the court is happy-go-lucky for the most part,” head coach Ryan DeLong said. And then her ability to just take over games. She’s one of the best players in the country.”
“Any time you get a key player back it’s going to help your team, and it really boosts the morale, especially coming at such a key time,” junior Katie Frohmader said. “Going into playoffs, everybody’s getting hyped up anyways, so to have her back is super big for us.”
viterbo wraps up the regular season at home Wednesday night against Waldorf.
