G-E-T High School goes virtual due to COVID-19
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School students will transition to virtual learning next week due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, according to the district.
District Administrator Michele Butler sent out an email to parents Thursday announcing the change, explaining that the increase in cases has led to a staff shortage at the high school.
“We recognize that this change in learning platforms is disappointing, especially for our high school students and parents; however, we must be responsive to the COVID-19 related cases we have recently seen at our high school and make adjustments to slow the spread of the virus,” Butler said in her letter.
The change only applies to high school students and the district plans to return to the hybrid instructional model Oct. 19. A second, more detailed email will be sent to families that include the daily schedule and expectations.
