Fundraising for 2nd Little Food Pantry in La Cross

A public fundraising campaign to bring food to a La Crosse neighborhood was funded in less than 24 hours.

La Crosse’s second Little Food Pantry project was funded through a Facebook campaign, and reached its goal of five hundred dollars in about a day. Organizers wanted to expand the program after the first Pantry set-up in La Crosse’s Powell-Poage-Hamilton Neighborhood was successful.

Through the program, families and individuals can take or donate non-perishable foods and hygiene items anonymously.

Organizers are continuing the fundraising campaign to help bring Pantries to more neighborhoods.

“Hopefully sprinkle throughout the city, in front of the senior center, in front of the schools, we’re going to have more of these cause, again, hunger doesn’t discriminate,” said PPH Neighborhood Association Co-Chair Angela Manke.

A location for the city’s second Little Food Pantry has not been determined yet.
