Fugitive wanted for attempted homicide, other charges arrested in the Town of Campbell
TOWN OF CAMPBELL, Wis. (WKBT)- A fugitive wanted in connected with a gang-related shooting in Racine, WI was arrested Wednesday night in the Town of Campbell.
The La Crosse Co. Emergency Response team with help from the La Crosse Police Department’s ERT, executed a search warrant for Gregory L. Wells, 26, at 205 Williams Street, Apartment D, in the Town of Campbell.
Wells was a suspect in a gang-related shooting in Racine on March 12.
An arrest warrant was out for Wells on the following charges: Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide, six separate counts of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safey, 14 counts of Felony Bail Jumping, and 14 counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
The Campbell PD received information from Racine Police that Wells may have fled to the La Crosse area.
Police say Wells surrendered peacefully.
Wells was taken to the La Crosse Co. Jail where he will await extradition to Racine.
