Freezing jobs on a record high day

LA CROSSE, Wis. — Even with these record high temps, some people spent the day bundled up in parkas and hats.

Workers in the freezer section of the Kwik Trip distribution building spent their day in -12 degree temperatures.

While most of us are melting in the heat, these guys are dressed in coats, hats and gloves to survive the sub-zero temps.

They say it’s a big change going from their frigid office to the sweltering outdoors.

“Coming in is not so bad but going out it will feel like a blast furnace some days, it feels heavy, it feels real heavy when you first walk out into the heat,” said Mark Olson, Warehouse Worker.

Olson will spend about a 10 hour shift in the cooler.
