Free tax help being offered to low income families

Families spend an average of $200 filing taxes

Area families will be able to benefit from free tax filing this year.

Wal-Mart, Goodwill, the American Disabilities Institute, and the United Way are teaming up to help low income families with their tax filing.

On average, families spend more than $200 filing their tax returns.

If your family made less than $60,000 last year, then you already qualify.

“For folks that can’t do it online, or maybe have other difficulties, we do also have in our region, we are fortunate that the AARP site at the local library can help,” said Great Rivers United Way Community Impact Dir. Jason Larsen.
