Free legal advice available for Wisconsin low-income residents

Free legal help is available for Wisconsin’s low-income residents.

A team of more than 300 attorneys is ready to answer civil legal questions online.

After a screening process, residents can ask a Wisconsin lawyer for information about their rights, or how to start a case.

“The idea was to make it convenient for people to get help, so they can ask clear questions and get answers when it’s convenient for them, without having to find childcare or take time off work to go down to a free legal clinic,” said Jeff Brown, the Pro Bono Program Manager for the State Bar of Wisconsin.

The website is secure and all communications between lawyers and clients are confidential.

Clients get an email when a lawyer answers their questions.
