Free fishing day get kids into the fun in La Crosse
Annual event comes during free fun weekend in Wisconsin
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Kids are finding fishing can be a ‘reel’ fun time.
The Western Wisconsin AFL/CIO held the return of their Kids Free Fishing Day at Chad Erickson Memorial Park in La Crosse.
Kids could learn about fishing and get a fishing pole to keep.
“This is what it is all about. You see them running around, smiling after they caught a fish. They’re all laughing and playing, it’s great,” said Western Wisconsin AFL/CIO member Mike David.
The event was one of many throughout the state as part of Wisconsin’s Free Fun weekend.
Anyone fishing in the state will not be required to have a license through Sunday.
