Fourth annual Bike Fest brings hundreds of riders to La Crosse
Four day event offers races, tours and even canoeing, kayaking
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse’s annual Bike Fest saw another successful year.
Hundreds of bikers hit the road exploring the Driftless Region for the fourth annual La Crosse Area Bicycle Festival.
The four day event allowed bikers to ride as they please. It offered bike races, tours, and even a stop during one of the rides to canoe and kayak.
Despite the weather organizers say the festival went off without a hitch, almost matching last year’s numbers.
“People kept just showing up. We had a beautiful day yesterday, and the registration got pretty crazy it was hectic I am I couldn’t even keep up,” said La Crosse Area Visitors Bureau Director of Sport Sales Jeremiah Burish.
The event was not only free but offered riders an experience they wouldn’t get anywhere else.
“This is not like most of the bike tours you’ll go on where you actually pay a fee up front and you get a week long bike trip. This is just come as you please and ride as much as want or as little as you want, so that’s kind of unique,” said John Wu from Illinois.
About 400 riders from 10 different states took part in this year’s event.
