Fountain City woman injured in collision with semi
LA CROSSE, Wis., (WKBT) — A Fountain City, Wis., woman was injured Monday in a multi-vehicle crash in Buffalo County after a head-on collission with a semi truck, according to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office.
Mary Jo Wicka, 61, was facing east in her 2019 Jeep Cherokee waiting to turn north on Hwy. M in the town of Buffalo when Scott Larsen, 53, Winona, Minn., rear-ended her in his 2002 Toyota Rav4 , according to investigators. The impact drove Wicka’s vehicle into the highway, causing her to cross the center line and collide with a westbound semi driven by Waylon Erdmannn, 43, Dakota, Minn.
Erdmann attempted evasive maneuvers, minimizing the impact; however, Wicka was injured, according to the sheriff’s office. She was taken to Winona County Memorial Hospital by the Winona Area Ambulance Service with moderate injuries.
