Former naval recruiter makes plea in child pornography case

Humphries pleads guilty after contacting Onalaska High School student

A former naval recruiter charged with having child pornography makes a plea in court Monday.

David Humphries, 36, plead guilty to one count of possession of child pornography.

Humphries was a recruiter at Onalaska High School where he met a student and began contacting him online. The student notified his parents and the school district about what was going on after some of the messages became inappropriate

Investigators found more than 20 images of minors on one of Humphries home computers.

The state is recommending Humphries serve three years in prison. His sentencing date has not been set yet.
