Former Jackson County jailer arrested for sexual misconduct
BLACK RIVER FALLS (WKBT) — A former Jackson County jailer was fired and arrested Thursday after investigators say he had sexual contact with a female inmate while on duty.
“The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has zero tolerance for this type of behavior, and we’d like to extend our appreciation to the other agencies involved who helped bring this investigation to a swift and justified conclusion,” said the sheriff’s office in a statement.
Noltner, who started working at the Jackson County Jail in November 2021, was charged Thursday by the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office.
The sheriff’s office took a report that Noltner had an inappropriate relationship with someone in the jail and asked the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office to step in and investigate. Noltner was put on administrative leave.
Investigators conducted interviews and reviewed jail camera footage to substantiate the claims and confirm that Noltner had sexual contact with the woman on two separate dates while on duty, according to the sheriff’s office.
