Flurries Early AM… Otherwise Mostly Cloudy Today
Flurries Possible Again Tonight & Tuesday
Monday’s Forecast High: 27F / Tonight’s Forecast Low: 11F…
It was a cloudy and rather gloomy weekend across the region… an an icy one Saturday evening and night, thanks to freezing drizzle. Temps were still above average with highs in the low-mid 30s.
Today will be a bit colder, but seasonable with highs mainly in the 20s. There will be some flurries in spots early this morning, perhaps even a brief light snow shower. This could cause some slick spots on area roads this morning, so use caution.
Mostly cloudy and colder tonight with a slight chance of flurries in spots, especially west of the Miss. River. Lows tonight will be in the single digits (north) to teens (south). NW winds tonight around 5-15 mph, will cause wind chills in the single digits above and below zero. A fast northwest flow aloft will send another weak disturbance zipping across the region Tuesday with the chance for snow flurries, perhaps some brief light snow showers in spots. Otherwise, mostly cloudy and colder Tuesday with highs in the upper teens.
Looking Ahead… Fasten your seat belt for a roller-coaster ride in temperatures! It will be warmer Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the l0w-mid 30s, but it will also be breezy… making it feel cooler than those numbers. Expect mostly to partly cloudy skies on Wednesday, then partly sunny conditions on Thursday.
It then turns colder again for Friday and Saturday, with highs in the upper teens to near 20F. Overnight lows will drop into the single digits above and below zero on Friday night. Clouds increase Saturday as a storm system looks to take aim on the region. As of now, it looks like that storm could bring a chance of snow by Saturday night, then a chance of snow on Sunday. If the low tracks farther north, then the precip could be more of a wintry mix on Sunday. For now, it looks like highs on Sunday will be in the upper 20s to low 30s… but stay tuned for updates through the week.
Chance of snow could linger into Monday as well, with highs in the mid-upper 20s. Partly sunny next Tuesday with highs in the mid 20s.
Have a good Monday and a great week ahead! -Bill Graul
