Flu shot clinic opens in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Flu season will be here before you know it, so here is a flu shot *clinic* that’s now open.
Mayo Clinic’s walk-in clinic opened this morning.
The CDC reports that flu activity is currently minimal, but of course you know it’s going to get worse.
December, January and February are the most common months for flu activity.
Health experts say now is the time to get a vaccine.
“It takes about two weeks for the vaccine to do what it needs to do and get you protected, and we want to protect not only you, but we would like to protect the general public as well,” said Meghan Finch, Mayo Clinic Health System registration coordination.
Mayo Clinic Health System’s walk-in clinic is in the Professional Arts Building on the La Crosse campus.
It is available for people 3 years old and up through November 21st.
Gundersen Health System’s flu shot clinic will open October 28th.
The clinics will be held at the Onalaska and La Crosse campuses.
And Winona Health’s community flu shot clinic is open.
The clinic is near the urgent care offices.
Winona Health’s flu shot clinic is open until October 25th.
