Five juveniles suffer injuries in single-vehicle crash in Warrens
WARRENS, Wis. (WKBT) – Five juveniles suffered injuries in a single-vehicle crash on County Highway EW near Jellystone Park Drive in Warrens Friday evening, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Two of the passengers sustained life-threatening injuries and had to be transported from the scene via medical helicopter.
Authorities determined that the driver of the vehicle, a 2015 White Jeep Grand Cherokee, failed to maintain control of the SUV while navigating a curve traveling westbound on County Highway EW.
The SUV went into the north ditch and hit a culvert, forcing it to overturn once just before 8 p.m. Friday.
Authorities say the highway was closed about 1.5 hours before the crash investigation was completed.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was aided by the Monroe County 911 Communications Center, Wisconsin State Patrol, Warrens Fire Department, Warrens First Responders, Tomah Area Ambulance Service, Tomah Rescue Technicians, Camp Douglas Ambulance Service, Fort McCoy Ambulance and GundersenAIR.
Officials say the incident remains under investigation.
