Firecracker 4-Mile raises money for organizations

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The Firecracker 4 Mile is encouraging participants to go the (social) distance, virtually this year.

People of all ages and abilities may participate virtually between June 27 and July 4 in the 4-mile run/walk. The event is promoting active outdoor fun while supporting the Children’s Museum of La Crosse and the La Crosse Area Autism Foundation.

Registration is $20 (+$2.50 credit card processing fee) per person or $60 (+ processing fee) for 3 or more people registering together. Each paid participant who runs or walks 4 miles and reports their time between June 27 and July 4 will receive a link to a printable, personalized finisher certificate and is eligible to win a medal (real, not virtual). Participants also receive a link for a printable bib number.

The top three male and female finishers in the following age categories will receive medals: 0-12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. The overall top finisher, male and female, will also receive an overall medal.

Children under 12 years of age can register for the Kids’ Superhero Races at no charge.
