Fire destroy garage and car, causes other damage in Town of Onalaska
TOWN OF ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — Several area fire departments responded to a garage fire in the Town of Onalaska in which the structure and a car inside were destroyed, according to a news release from the Holmen Area Fire Department.
The La Crosse County Emergency Dispatch Center notified the Holmen department about the fire on Ann Street shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, the news release said.
The La Crosse Fire Department was asked to assist under the Automatic Aid Agreement, and the Onalaska Fire Department was dispatched with a water tender to assist. The Onalaska department also was on standby to
cover any additional calls for the Holmen agency.
The vinyl siding of the home and a car in the driveway also had radiant heat damage, according to the release. A boat outside the garage also was damaged slightly.
Units from 11 agencies and 25 personnel were involved with the response.
The Holmen department is investigating the cause of the fire.
