Fighting hunger, improving health
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Local organizations are working together to fight hunger and improve health, and there’s an opportunity for you to get involved.
The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse, Festival Foods, Gundersen Health System, and UnitedHealthcare are working together to hold events all week in our area, called “Breakfast & Health on Us.”
Everybody is welcome to come to the events for free blood pressure and BMI screenings, done by Gundersen and UnitedHealthcare staff.
Organizers will also be handing out reusable grocery bags full of groceries like bread, turkey bacon, eggs, orange juice and milk.
