Family Promise of Monroe County cuts ribbon on Day Center in Sparta

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) — Family Promise of Monroe County cut the ribbon Wednesday on its new Day Center in Sparta, where homeless families can receive help with individual case management.

The center, at 117 West Oak St., also has showers, a laundry facility and a computer station people can use to apply for jobs and housing.

“Our only requirement is that every adult that is applying has a child or is pregnant with a child,” director Tia Hewuse said.

“In our area, it’s hard to find a place to buy or rent,” she said. “There’s a real need for someone to help them find landlords and sustainable living patterns.”

The center was donated to Family Promise.
