Family of elderly man missing for nearly a year now believes he may have stopped in Prairie du Chien area

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. (WKBT)– Nearly a year after a man went missing from northern Wisconsin, his family now believes he may have stopped in Prairie du Chien. Tony Dantzman’s family said they got a tip that he may have visited an antique shop in the Prairie du Chien area during Labor Day weekend last year.

The family of the elderly Korean war veteran has been searching for him since he walked away from a motel in Winter, Wisconsin.  Dantzman was visiting for a family reunion and might be trying to return home to California.

Investigators believe he may have tried to catch a ride with someone. Dantzman does have dementia so he might not know he is missing.
