Family Fest brings families together from around the community

One of the largest family events in the region returned to La Crosse Sunday. The 14th annual Family Fest was held at the La Crosse Center and brought in more than 50 different groups.

Booths were set up for various things such as games, a bounce house, food and drinks, live entertainment and more. The first 125 families in attendance received a four-pack of tickets to see the La Crosse Showtime.

Organizers said they were pleased with the great turnout and that the event has a certain appeal to kids that keeps them coming back.

“We must be doing something right. People very much enjoy, to have 3,600 people come through the doors every year. And I think the biggest draw is that they’re able to get their kids out of the house. We saw last night the snow can give cabin fever pretty easily,” said La Crosse Media Group promotions director Heidi Hanse.

The event was free to attend but canned food donations were accepted for the hunger task force.
