Explore La Crosse announces grant program

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Explore La Crosse announced Monday that it will be bringing back the event marketing grant program to help promote local festivals and events.

“Safely reviving our local tourism and economy is something we feel very passionate about and are pleased to be able to allocate limited funds for this purpose,” said the organization in a statement.

The funds are designated for events scheduled after July 1.

The program is designed to help organizations with marketing efforts that will promote the La Crosse area to potential visitors, extend overnight stays and bring people back to our area. The competitive grant will be reviewed by the La Crosse County Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors.

To be eligible, organizations must show overnight lodging stays within the La Crosse area, cannot discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, gender, national origin or sexual orientation.

Capital campaigns, buildings funds or events for political organizations, candidates for political office, and organizations whose primary purpose is to influence legislation are not eligible.

Application guidelines are available on the Explore La Crosse website.
