Everson Griffen says goodbye to Vikings on Instagram account
Longtime Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen, who is a free agent, posted a farewell message to Vikings fans on his Instagram account on Friday.
A section of Griffen’s post reads that he “could not be more grateful for the unconditional support and love I received from SKOL Nation. While it is with a heavy heart I say goodbye, I leave Minnesota in the best physical and mental shape I have ever been and have many more Pro Bowl season to come! Wherever my next step is, I will always be grateful to and cheering for the Vikings.”
Per Rapoport, Griffen’s agent Brian Murphy said in a statement, “We have broken off talks with Minnesota because they have to spend their money elsewhere and we decided to now focus our attention on free agency.”
Griffen, 32, was drafted in the fourth round by the Vikings back in 2010. He was selected to four Pro Bowls and racked up 353 tackles and 74.5 sacks.
