Evers announces $200 million COVID-19 recovery program
MADISON, Wis. (WKBT)–The “Routes to Recovery: Local Government Aid Grants” program was announced Wednesday by Gov. Tony Evers.
The effort is funded by $200 million in relief from the CARES act and in federal Coronavirus Aid.
The Routes to Recovery Grants will reimburse counties, villages and towns in their expenses towards emergency operations, purchases of protective equipment, testing and contact tracing costs among others.
“So far, we’ve been able to invest $1 billion in resources to support communities throughout Wisconsin through our statewide COVID-19 response efforts,” said Department of Administration Secretary Joel Brennan.
