LA CROSSE (WKBT) – Students at UW-La Crosse celebrated their achievements at winter commencement Sunday.

More than 650 students walked the stage to receive their diplomas.

This group spent most of their college career during the pandemic.

One UWL student says she is hoping to eventually earn a doctorate and plans to use that to make a difference in her home country Nigeria.

“I want to also gain experiences in higher education through internships and other practical opportunities,” said graduate student Kathryn Suwa. “I can bring of all that, the advanced experience, the degree, back to Nigeria ”

Suwa says that she is very thankful to all her teachers and her fellow students for their support.
