Employee at senior living community in Sparta tests positive for COVID-19

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) – Following recent staff testing at Morrow Home Community in Sparta, one employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a Facebook post pinned on the ‘Morrow Home Community’ page Sunday night, the center was notified of the coronavirus case last Wednesday. The employee’s contacts were promptly notified and asked to self-isolate at home.

Since that time, three additional non-direct care employees have also tested positive, all of whom had contact with the first case. None of these employees have had contact with the residents.

Additionally, one assisted living employee has also tested positive. The employee’s potential contacts have been identified and asked to remain at home to self-isolate.

Morrow Home Community will continue testing residents and staff on a bi-weekly basis, and continue to follow recommended safety guidelines, including restricting visitation.

In an effort to be transparent, the community is asked to reach out to Morrow Home Community for any further questions. The center says it is doing everything possible to contain the virus and prevent it from affecting residents and any additional staff members.
