Emergency responders in our region are raising funds for the family of a fallen firefighter
CASHTON, Wis. (WKBT) — More than 2,000 mourners gathered in Sun Prairie Saturday for the funeral of Captain Cory Barr, who was killed Tuesday after an explosion in downtown Sun Prairie.
Cashton Fire and Rescue are holding a “fill the boot” donation drive for the Barr family. Barr is survived by his wife and his 3-year-old twin girls.
The fundraiser will be held Monday afternoon at the Cashton Fire Station from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Barr died from injuries sustained from the explosion caused by a punctured gas line after he went to help evacuate people in the area while off-duty.
