Eau Claire County citizen police academy to be rescheduled for winter 2015
10-week educational program offers police practices
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office has postponed the 2014 fall citizen police academy and has rescheduled it for the winter of 2015 due to a low number in applicants.
The Eau Claire County citizen police academy is a 10-week program that focuses on classroom training along with educational experience into police practice.
Areas that will be addressed include: basic criminal law, patrol procedures, narcotics, gangs, SWAT, courts, DA’s Office, corrections, use of force, investigations, firearms, Taser, building searches, traffic enforcement-OWI and many others.
The latest academy session will begin on Thursday January 8, 2015, with a graduation date scheduled for March 12, 2015.
To be eligible to attend the academy, applicants must work in or be a resident of Eau Claire County and have no criminal record. For more information about the academy and for an application, visit the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office website.
