Eagle sculpture added to Eagle Watch area in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A new eagle is watching over the Mississippi River in our area.
Crews installed an eagle sculpture at the Eagle Viewing Area south of I-90’s exit 3.
The La Crosse engineering department is installing the fiberglass eagle in a white oak tree trunk that has been built near the parking lot.
The statue was sponsored in council action by Andrea Richmond.
The new addition was part of WisDOT’s plan for the space for a long time.
“It was part of the general concept for the Eagle Viewing Area, they want kind of a sculpture adding some extra value to it,” said La Crosse civil engineer Jamie Hassemer.
There is still some landscaping and fencing that needs to be added near the Eagle Viewing Area.
