EAA convention to feature naval aircrafts
OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — This year’s Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture convention will feature the largest collection of naval aircraft spanning all eras.
Among the dozens of aircraft anticipated are several World War II and Korean War-era naval warbirds, including the only flying SB2C Helldiver Navy dive bomber in the world and one of two airworthy PV-2 Harpoons.
The Vietnam War-era will be represented by a Douglas R4D, Douglas AD Skyraider, Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, and North American T-2 Buckeye.
2011 marks the 100th anniversary of Naval Aviation.
The event will be held July 25 through July 31 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.
