Dwight plans to compete in 25 events at Iowa Games

Former University of Iowa football star Tim Dwight says he plans to compete in 25 events to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Summer Iowa Games.

Dwight retired from the NFL after the 2007 season and now works in the solar energy business.

He says he’ll compete in the 5-kilometer run, the 200-meter dash, archery, table tennis and free-throw shooting and other events.

Dwight tells the Iowa City Press-Citizen that he’s hoping to spread awareness of physical fitness.

The Summer Iowa Games will be held at Iowa State University in July.
