2020 Evening 8 To 8

Thursday Night Forecast

Our area looks to get a “glancing blow” Friday from a winter storm tracking by well to our west. Expect the chance for snow to develop in parts of SE Minnesota and NE Iowa Friday morning… after about 7 or 8:00. The AM commute should be OK for most of our area. The most persistent snow is expected to fall from about Noon to 6PM Friday. Snow chances east of the Miss. River are iffier, with just a chance for some light snow with minimal if any accumulations. The snow will then dive south and exit our area by midnight Friday night. It will be colder Friday with highs in the upper teens to low-mid 20s.

This will not be a big snow producer for most of our area, in fact the bulk of our viewing area is in the “None to 2″ range in terms of expected snowfall. Parts of SE Minnesota and NE Iowa could see 2” to 4″… with the greater snow totals well to our west, especially near and west of the I-35 corridor. We will still call Friday and Friday night an ALERT DAY, due to expected travel impacts… especially west of the Miss. River.
