Dry & Relatively Mild Tonight -Bill Graul
Cold Front Brings Chance of Showers & Much Cooler Temps
Tonight’s Forecast Low: 53F / Wednesday’s Forecast High: 71F…
Before we get to the forecast, a quick check on the latest fall colors report for the region. Starting to see some decent colors pop in some areas. Of course, your exact location and species of trees will be key factors on how good the color is.
Partly cloudy and relatively mild tonight with lows in the 43-56F range across the News 8 viewing area. Coolest readings will be north/east. Winds will decrease to around 5 mph or less from the south.
One more mild day Wednesday with more clouds than sun. Slight chance of showers as a cold front approaches from the west, with the best chance later in the afternoon and into Wednesday evening. Isolated thunder possible as well in spots. High temps Wednesday in the upper 60s to low 70s.
Breezy and quite a bit cooler Thursday with a slight chance of showers, mainly in the morning. High temps Thursday only in the 50s to around 60F, with blustery N/NW winds 10-20 mph and gusts around 25 mph possible.
Partly sunny and cool Friday with highs only in the low-mid 50s, perhaps even upper 40s north. It will also be much chillier at night, with lows in the low-mid 30s Thursday night into Friday morning… then upper 20s to low 30s Friday night into Saturday morning. Traditional colder areas north/east will be even colder, with lows in the 20s a good bet. As a result, expect areas of frost and/or freezing temps on those two nights… so be prepared for that.
Looking Ahead… Mostly sunny, but still cool Saturday with highs in the 55-60F range. A bit warmer Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the mid 60s. Small chance of showers next Monday and Tuesday, with highs in the mid-upper 60s. Better chance of showers around the middle of next week.
Have a great Tuesday night! -Meteorologist Bill Graul
