Dry, But Cool Today After A Frosty Start… Then Showers For Some Tonight
Continued Cool For Mother's Day
Saturday’s Forecast High: 59F / Tonight’s Forecast Low: 40F…
It’s going to be a frosty morning for most, with temps early this morning in the low-mid 30s. Northern & eastern parts of the viewing area could have freezing temps in the mid-upper 20s this morning. Frost & Freeze headlines are in place through 8:00 this morning.
Expect chilly sunshine to start today, then clouds will gradually increase through the day as a system approaches from the west. Highs today will be in the upper 50s, still a good 10-degrees short of average.
The main impacts of that system will pass to our south, but our area could get clipped with a slight chance of rain showers toward Saturday evening and into Saturday night. The highest rain chances will be in southern portions of the viewing area. The good news is the cloud cover with that system will keep lows in the upper 30s to low 40s Saturday night/Sunday morning.
For Mother’s Day temps will remain cool, with highs again in the upper 50s. Expect more clouds than sun with a slight chance of pop up showers or sprinkles during the prime heating of the afternoon and early evening.
Looking Ahead… Staying cool to start next week with highs only in the mid-upper 50s Monday, with partly sunny skies. A bit warmer Tuesday through Thursday with highs in the low-mid 60s. Tuesday looks dry at this point, with a slight chance of showers Wednesday and Thursday.
Finally more seasonable again next Friday and Saturday, with highs climbing to around 70F or a bit above. Friday looks dry as of now, with a slight chance of showers and t-storms on Saturday.
Have a great weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mom’s out there! -Bill Graul
