Driver dies in Buffalo County crash on Hwy. 35
FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. (WKBT) — A Fountain City man died Wednesday after a single-vehicle crash on Hwy. 35 in Buffalo County.
William A. Daubs, 32, was traveling south Wednesday on Hwy. 35 in his white 2016 Jeep Cherokee when he left the road and attempted to correct and get back on the highway, according to the Cuffalo County Sheriff’s Department. The vehicle rolled, and Daubs, who was not wearing his seat belt, was partially ejected. The vehicle landed upside down on top of Daubs.
Police were called at 10:14 p.m. and arrived to find Daubs trapped underneath the vehicle. They attempted life-saving measures; however, he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
Traffic on Hwy. 35 and Burlington North Santa Fe rails were both stopped while emergency crews worked.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, according to the sheriff’s department.
