Driver arrested for OWI in Jackson County after going 90 mph with six children in the vehicle

JACKSON COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) — A Chicago man was arrested for first offense drunken driving after he was pulled over for driving 90 mph with six children in the vehicle.

A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper pulled over Roosevelt O Sims, 49, Chicago, for driving 90 mph in a 70 mph zone at about 2:32 a.m. Thursday on Interstate-94 in Jackson County.

According to the state patrol, Sims showed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety testing, and there were six minors in the vehicle.

He was arrested and taken to a local hospital for an evidentiary chemical test of his blood.

The minors were given over the care of a responsible adult.
