Drive-in movie theater coming to Viroqua for the summer
The Moonlight Cinema set up by VARC, Inc. will host a drive-in movie theater featuring three different films at 830 PM from Friday through Sunday
VIROQUA, Wis (WKBT) — If you are still looking for some fun summer activities, Viroqua is taking the big screen, outside.
The Moonlight Cinema set up by VARC, Inc. will host a drive-in movie theater featuring three different films at 8:30 PM from Friday through Sunday. The VARC grounds, off of Nelson Parkway, will open for parking at 7:30 PM and begin the film at 8:30 PM.
Tickets will be sold online only for car seating and grass seating and the first few movies include The Sandlot, Knives Out, and Abominable.
The president of the Moonlight Cinema, Elizabeth Filter, and her crew have been working to make this a fun family event. “We also wanted to help out local business. So we’ll have local food vendors here, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well, that folks can purchase meals from. Our team got together, and really made this fast track so that folks can enjoy something during their summer.”
The sound will be transmitted on an FM radio frequency, so if you plan on purchasing grass seating, be ready to bring a FM radio so you can fully enjoy the festivities.
Films are announced through the website and social media, within two weeks of each film’s projected showing. The Moonlight Cinema intends to show three different films every weekend from June through August.
Tickets will be sold online by the car ($40 Famiy Pass), and grass seating for a maximum of two people ($25 View for Two). All tickets must be purchased online in advance at www.varcinc.com/moonlightcinema.
