Driftless Writing Center collecting local stories of summer flooding victims
COON VALLEY, Wis. (WKBT) — While many are struggling with this warming weather, some are collecting the personal stories of last year’s wide-spread flooding.
The Driftless Writing Center is partnering with libraries and the Vernon County Historical Society to document the historic floods of last August. Starting next month, the Center is welcoming everyone to stop by one of many “Story Workshops” record their own struggles.
With each person’s permission, those stories will then be shared with other residents and local, state and national lawmakers. Stories will also be archived online and with historical societies for future generations and research.
