Downtown Mainstreet hosts Winter Open House

It may be cold outside, but businesses in downtown La Crosse are hoping to help people shake the winter blues.

Downtown Mainstreet kicked off its new winter open house Friday afternoon, giving new businesses a chance to show what they have to offer.

The organization normally only holds open houses twice a year, but says they’re expanding to four this year — one for every season.

“This winter one, we are focusing on some really great sales, because it’s that time of year when things are on special,” said executive director Robin Moses. “We just hope people will come down, embrace the season, and love your downtown.”

More than 30 downtown businesses took part in this season’s open house.
