Downtown Mainstreet in La Crosse celebrates statewide recognition

DMI board President Will Kratt is named volunteer of year

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — La Crosse’s Downtown Mainstreet is celebrating statewide recognition.

The Wisconsin Main Street Awards recognized five of DMI’s programs, including its Downtown Decks promotion and Valentine’s Day Gift Packages.

Leithold Music was honored with Best Façade Rehabilitation.

“It’s very cool because it’s a statewide recognition, so the Main Street of Wisconsin is saying that we’re taking it that they’re recognizing our investment in the downtown,” said Abbie Leithold-Gerzema.

“We’re happy that the store was structurally sound and in such good shape that the restoration was a very do-able thing,” said Paul Leithold.

Rounding out the awards in La Crosse, DMI board President Will Kratt was named volunteer of the year.

Best Upper Floor Development was given to the Newburg Flats on Pearl.
